Week 7 of Coding Club involved the students finishing this term’s main project, a M&M sorter.
The M&M sorters are capable of scanning the colour of an object and communicating this information to a latch connected to a medium motor, moving in different directions depending on the colour detected.
The M&M sorter consisted of a conveyor belt, a latch and a colour sorter attachment.
In order to create their robot, the students made use of medium and large motors, colour sensors and a variety of gears.
The programming of the M&M sorter made use of switch, loop and wait blocks in a variety of different ways.
During the remaining weeks of the term, the students will be designing, building and programming their very own Sumo Wrestling Robot!
