Music program

At Saint Maria Goretti Catholic School, our Music program inspires creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation of music in all its forms.

Through engaging weekly lessons, students explore rhythm, melody, harmony, and composition while developing their listening, performing, and creative skills. Contemporary learning tools, including digital music platforms such as GarageBand and ChromeLabs, allow students to compose, record, and produce their own music in innovative and meaningful ways.

Performance is an important part of our program, with students regularly sharing their learning at school events, assemblies, liturgies, and through participation in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.

Our Senior Choir is a vibrant part of school life, proudly representing SMG each year at One Big Voice, along with other performance opportunities throughout the school calendar. These experiences help students build confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

Language program

Language learning is about more than words—it's about building confidence, embracing new perspectives and developing a lifelong appreciation of the world around us.
At our school, every student from Pre-Primary to Year 6 embarks on an exciting journey of learning Italian through engaging, immersive experiences. Lessons are filled with conversation, music, storytelling, games, technology and collaborative activities that inspire students to communicate with confidence while having fun.
Our Italian program encourages curiosity and cultural understanding as students discover the traditions, history, food and lifestyle of Italy. By making meaningful connections between language and culture, students gain a broader understanding of the world and develop respect for diverse communities.
Learning Italian also strengthens literacy, communication and critical thinking skills, providing benefits that extend well beyond the classroom. Most importantly, our students are empowered to become confident, capable learners who are willing to take risks, embrace new challenges and celebrate the joy of discovering another language and culture.

Visual arts

At St Maria Goretti's, we believe every child is an artist. Our Visual Arts program inspires students to explore their imagination, embrace creativity and express themselves with confidence. Through a variety of engaging experiences, students experiment with different media, techniques and styles while developing the skills to create meaningful and imaginative artworks.
Students are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems, reflect on their work and appreciate the diverse ways art can communicate ideas, emotions and stories. Our program celebrates individuality and provides opportunities for every student to discover and develop their artistic potential.
Each year, our Annual Art Exhibition is a highlight of the school calendar. Families and the wider community are invited to experience a stunning display of student artwork, celebrating the creativity, dedication and achievements of every young artist in our school.
