Religious Education

At the heart of our school is a vibrant Catholic community where faith, learning and wellbeing come together to nurture the whole child.
Our Religious Education program encourages students to deepen their relationship with God while developing the values of compassion, kindness, respect and service to others. Through engaging classroom learning, prayer, reflection, Scripture and meaningful discussion, students are supported to explore their faith, ask questions and discover how Gospel values can guide their everyday lives.
Students have many opportunities to celebrate their faith through class liturgies, whole-school Masses, community outreach initiatives and special celebrations throughout the liturgical year. These shared experiences foster a strong sense of belonging and help students understand the importance of living their faith through action.
A significant part of each child's faith journey is the celebration of the Sacraments. Our students are thoughtfully prepared to receive these important milestones in partnership with their families and parish community:
 
  • Year 3 – Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Year 4 – First Holy Communion
  • Year 6 – Sacrament of Confirmation
We value the partnership between home, school and parish, and warmly encourage families to be actively involved in these special celebrations as their children continue to grow in faith.
 
Through our Religious Education program, we inspire students to grow with compassionate hearts, as confident learners and faithful young people who make a positive difference in their communities and the world.

  • First Reconciliation Celebration – Thursday 9 March @ 6.00pm Notre Dame Parish

Communion – Term 2

  • Commitment Masses – Saturday 29 April at 6.00pm
  • Parent/Student Workshop  - Thursday 18 May @ 6.00pm Notre Dame Parish
  • Reconciliation in preparation for Eucharist – Tuesday 6 June @ 9.00am at school.
  • Sacrament of First Eucharist Sunday 18 June @ 10.00am Notre Dame Parish

  • Commitment Mass and Pledge - Sunday 2 August at 10.00am Notre Dame Parish.
  • Reconciliation for the Sacrament of Confirmation – Tuesday 25 August at 9.00am St Maria Goretti’s
  • Parent/Student Workshop – Thursday 27 August 6.00pm at Notre Dame Parish.
  • Year 6 Student Retreat – Monday 31 August at St Maria Goretti’s.
  • Confirmation Practice – Wednesday 9 September at 3.30pm at Notre Dame Parish.
 
 
 

Graduation

  • Final Assembly and Awards – 9.00am Thursday 3 December.
  • Year 6 Graduation Dinner – 6.00pm at St Maria Goretti’s School
  • Year 6 Graduation Mass – 9.00am Tuesday 8 December at St Maria Goretti’s.
